Perspective

So, Parkinson’s is a bit of a weird condition. You don’t know whether it’s affecting you mentally as well as physically. Obviously, being given a such a diagnosis plays havoc with your plans for the future, changes your priorities, affects how you Think of yourself and others.

What you don’t have however, is any way to gauge perspective – who could possibly understand it from your viewpoint? I know support groups are valuable but I still firmly hold to the concept of self reliance. When it comes down to it, you have to be able to look after yourself don’t you? And that’s what I’m trying to do at the moment.

So I might be a little quieter than normal, I might be a little abbreviated for a while. I’m OK, but I’m following my resolution to Choose Life and that takes time. Stick with me though, I’m not disappearing. Promise.

  1. Please do stick with it as you have been very inspirational to me. I joined Montpellier Quilters this year following a comment of yours and I now “follow you” to see what you are doing next. I can’t begin to imagine what you go through but on your blog you show that you are so positve and always see the joy of life. Sending you an e-hug, Sue.

  2. Weird is all too true. But keep on keeping on – you know, deep down, I think, what is right, and that’s the path to follow. I confess to having had doubts on similar lines, myself, recently. I’ve decided to blame all past apathy (my own line of doubt) on Parkinson’s, and try to find that lost map. Because I’m the one in charge, not it.

Oh, and find time to paint, too. Somehow.

I suspect that you dont want to lose touch with your creativity, either.

    1. No you are right. Making stuff keeps me sane. I am sorry you’ve been thru the mill too. I totally agree with your attitude tho. Go for it. I’ll try to do the same.
